About my disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa and some random thoughts, daily life and my craftwork.

Hi Teri, I just discovered your blog - thanks for all your info on HS. I just self-diagnosed myself today. I have had "boils" on my legs, armpits and under my breasts on and off for the past year or so. I told my friend about it today, and she said they are a symptom of PCOS. Although my dr never told me I have the disease, I have been told I have "cystic ovaries". So it makes sense, I could only be suffering from HS. So far, the lesion I have right now has been the worst. I've only had it for a few days, but it is sore, and full of blood and other fluid. I keep draining it on my own 2-3 times per day, cleaning it with antiseptic, and bandaging it. I had a tubal ligation after my last child was born and it seems like my health has gone downhill from there - lots of strange "woman" problems and such. Just wanted to thank you for your blog, you seem like such a great mom, wife and person. I hope you continue to write about your experiences.
There is a support group for fellow HS sufferers on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/groups/HSKnowledgeiskey/?ap=1
It's good to have others to speak with and ask questions. You may want to consider joining.
BTW I publish this blog for two reasons. To raise awareness and to find others out there who have HS together we may be able to help raise awareness and find a cure.
